Bac S 2011 – Sujet corrigé gratuit d’anglais LV2
I. Compréhension
1. Jo is Australian and she has completed studies in physical education in her home country. After her studies, she travelled a lot in the East Asian countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia before setting off to London.
2. Jo, Jenny, Caroline and Dee meet in a flat in Corduroy Mansions, London.
3. Jenny’s advertisement about roommates for her flat brings all four of them together in London.
4. Jenny was in the appartment in the first place. « She had arrived two hours later, been interviewed by Jenny and agreed to move in the next day. » (l. 9)
5. Dee arrived after Jo « Dee had been interviewed the day after that, with Jo being co-opted onto the vetting committee. » (l. 12)
Caroline was the last one to join them. « …Caroline when it was her turn to be assessed as the final member of the flat. » (l. 14)
6. a. Jo is speaking.
b. Dee is speaking.
c. Dee and Caroline are both English.
7. Jo and Dee have doubts about Caroline becoming their roommate because they found that she has a strange attitude and that she did not get along with them rightaway as they both did with each other.
8. This sentence means that one cannot choose or even have control over who he really is and how he behaves.
9. Jo becomes more lenient towards Caroline, and starts thinking that it is not Caroline’s fault if she is the way she is. She even decides to agree if Jenny says that Caroline would move in with them.
10. Dee is talking about consultation. The situation is parallel to British government consultation in that Jenny did not ask for Jo and Dee’s opinion about Caroline even if they interviewed her also but decided by herself that she would be their roommate.
11. Dee sees her country, England, as very hyprocritical, giving examples of how the governement carries out consultation when in fact it has already taken a decision. Jo, on the other hand, thinks that her country, Australia, is fair in that they are very sincere and frank.
II. Expression Sujet 1.Imagine Jenny’s interview of Jo. Write the dialogue.
Sujet 2.Are parental values the only values that can influence people’s lives?
