District 11 Quick Guide to Benchmark, Strategic Monitor, and Intensive Progress Monitor Data Entry Select the test you need to collect scores for from the following dialogue, click the Generate button at the bottom of the page, then print the resulting PDF document.   Benchmark and Strategic Monitor Reports  Reports at the classroom level can be generated in either HTML/web-based format (quicker) or PDF (better for printing), using the following buttons.    Individual student reports can be generated using the Report button at the end of the row.  These reports compare the individual student and their results on that particular test to the average of the class.  AERO/dlb 6 of 31 September 2007
District 11 Quick Guide to Benchmark, Strategic Monitor, and Intensive Progress Monitor Data Entry   To get individual student reports for the entire class for a particular test, click the stack of papers next to that test name. The Pathway stack of papers button, allows you to print individual student reports for the entire class for all of the assessments.   Quick Classroom Level Reports  There are also several options for classroom reports for rapid data analysis, instructional decision-making, and grouping of students based on needs.  AERO/dlb September 2007   7 of 31
District 11 Quick Guide to Benchmark, Strategic Monitor, and Intensive Progress Monitor Data Entry Using DIBELS Criteria to Make Instructional Decisions  In some of these reports it is essential that you select the DIBELS criteria for making instructional recommendations and generating the report. The AIMSWeb system defaults to the AIMSWeb expectations, so in some cases you’ll have the report generated, and then have to make these corrections and redisplay the report.  This is particularly true in the Instructional Recommendation report…   And in the Summary of Impact of Instructional Program report.     It is also critical in this report that you change the Targets from AIMSWeb Norms to DIBELS Benchmark Goals.  After you have generated any reports, either individual, group, or classroom, you will need to use the green-tab, Back button to return to the class list and continue working.  AERO/dlb September 2007   8 of 31
District 11 Quick Guide to Benchmark, Strategic Monitor, and Intensive Progress Monitor Data Entry Entering Strategic Monitoring Scores  Strategic monitoring is for students who are not yet at Benchmark and need to be monitored on a monthly basis. Strategic monitoring can also be used to enter scores for students who enter your school after a benchmarking period has ended and for whom you need to get baseline data.  Strategic monitoring is done in the Benchmarking area of AIMSWeb.  Before strategic monitoring scores can be entered, a student or group of students must be selected for strategic monitoring.  Selecting an Individual Student for Strategic Monitoring  To select an individual student, make sure you are in the correct benchmarking period using the Timeframe drop-down menu.   Click on the individual student’s name to bring up their student information.  AERO/dlb September 2007   9 of 31
District 11 Quick Guide to Benchmark, Strategic Monitor, and Intensive Progress Monitor Data Entry Scroll to the bottom of the student information dialogue, click the Strategic Monitoring checkbox, then click Save.    Selecting Multiple Students for Strategic Monitoring  To select multiple students for Strategic Monitoring, click on the Add Student button to bring up the student roster. In most cases, this will bring up the student roster for the entire school.   AERO/dlb September 2007   10 of 31
