Tip #1: Increase your water intake

Tip #2: Never skip breakfast
Have you ever heard the saying "breakfast is the most important meal of the day"? Well, this is absolutely true. By skipping breakfast, your body goes into starvation mode, which means that you eat more later on in the day, which puts you in a caloric surplus and consequently, you gain weight. So make sure you are eating a nice balanced breakfast, like high-fiber cereal, low fat milk, and fruit.
Tip #3: Eat more small meals
It's simple-the more calories you intake, the more weight you will gain. You might be saying "well it's pretty hard not to eat more calories when you're really hungry". Eating smaller portions through out the day allows you to have better appetite control so you don't over eat during those meals. Try to aim for 4-5 small meals or snacks a day, eating the bulk of those earlier in the day.
Tip #4: Stay active
Exercise is not only important to weight loss, but your overall health in general. Staying active combined with clean eating cuts the time it takes to shed pounds in half. Your metabolism will increase which increases the rate at which fat is burned in your body. Aim to be active for 30 minutes everyday, whether it's playing a sport you love or taking your dog for a walk.
Tip #5: Get enough sleep
When you don't sleep long enough, your body naturally overproduces a hormone called ghrelin which signals to your brain that you're hungry. Even worse, it also slows down the production of leptin which is the hormone that signals you're full. That's a bad combination for weight loss right there so make sure you are getting the proper amount of sleep so you don't binge eat.
Tip #6: Change your mindset
Remember that weight loss is a process and takes a little time, especially if you are doing it alone. Don't become discouraged if you do not lose 10 pounds in 2 days...it's ok so relax. This should be something that you enjoy doing and that makes you feel better about yourself. It's a lifestyle change and results will always follow consistency.
