Persuasion is a technique wherein you encourage someone to think along the same lines as you are and develop the same conclusions. Without persuasion, you run the risk of people formulating their own opinions that may differ from yours, which will quickly cause them to resist what you are saying. If you do not use persuasion, you essentially give people the permission to think whatever they like about your ideas. And you will be in a weaker position in negotiations. IŶ order to ďetter uŶderstaŶd persuasioŶ, let’s thiŶk aďout a theoretiĐal sĐeŶario for a ŵiŶute. Let’s say you are talkiŶg to soŵeoŶe aďout a ďusiŶess propositioŶ. You tell theŵ all of the juiĐy details aŶd theŶ leaǀe theŵ to their oǁŶ deǀiĐes. They’re interested, but instead of returning to you, they turn to the person who is easiest to ĐoŶtaĐt iŶ that ŵoŵeŶt. Perhaps you’re uŶaǀailaďle, out of the offiĐe, or the conversation started naturally and geared towards that topic. If you failed to use persuasion, the person you proposed your business idea to may decide to go with someone else, instead. Alternatively, if you were to use persuasion techniques in your pitch, this person would not seek information from other sources in order to make a decision. Instead, they would pursue you for the information, and request that you share more with them. You will have comfortably lead them to the decision, and they will happily hear what you have to say. Instead of immediately thinking the business idea is bad, or feeling that they need to do more research before they commit, they will have trust in you and therefore they will believe you when you tell them it is a good idea. Ideally, they ǁill take the ͞ďait͟ aŶd go aloŶg ǁith ǁhateǀer idea you haǀe proposed.
When you are using persuasion techniques effectively, the people you are talking to are going to feel as though they are in charge of their own thoughts. In reality, they are. However, you are using the art of persuasion to guide their thoughts in a direction that is more effective for you in what you are desiring to accomplish. Even though they feel like they are calling the shots, the reality is that you are. The best way persuasion works is when you use subliminal persuasion techniques on someone. If you are too aggressive, you may turn them off of your ideas and prevent them from wanting to work with you. That is why learning the art of persuasion properly is so important. And high-quality negotiation training can definitely help. The better you are with this art, the easier it will be for you, and the more positive your results will be. If you are really good at what you do, you can actually disagree with someone else without making them feel as though you actually disagree ǁith ǁhat they’re sayiŶg. In fact, you can use these techniques to take someone who is currently disagreeing with you and encourage them to instead agree with you. The reason why persuasion is so important is because you need to get people agreeing with you. In order to do this, you need to make sure that you are also agreeing with them. Simply put, this is using the law of attraction. Like things attract like things. In other words, if you are agreeing with someone else, even if you actually doŶ’t, you are shoǁiŶg theŵ that you are oŶ the saŵe page as they are, eǀeŶ if you’re Ŷot.
