The future of the monarchy at stake?
Elizabeth II has now ruled England for 68 years, making her the monarch with the longest reign in the history of the United Kingdom. But, be-tween Prince Andrew's indiscretions and Prince Harry's desertion, is the future of the Windsor family in jeopardy? This is not thefirst time that the monarchy has experienced some turbulence, however. In this issue, you will discover how, not that long ago, the royal family reinvented itself, as well as the economic stakes related to the Duke of Sussex’s withdrawal from his royal duties.
Elsewhere in the Kingdom, the consequences of Brexit continue to be of concern, this time because of the challenges they pose to education.
It is not only within the Royal family that rela-tions seem to be cooling off: generally speaking, researchers at Stanford have found that we have all lost some of our human warmth. Cows, on the other hand, are getting on like a house on fire, according to an Australian study. Could it be that they have fewer taboos than American advertisers in the Trump Era?
All this, and more, in this issue of Vocable.
